Alcholic Hepaptitis


It is a syndrome of the progressive inflammatory liver injury associated with long-term heavy intake of ethanol.

Signs and symptoms

Mostly presented with subacute onset of fever,hepatomegaly,leukocytosis, marked impairment of liver function(e.g Jaundice, coagulopathy), and manifestation of portal hypertension (e.g Acites,hepatic encephalopathy, variceal hemorrhage).
Milder forms of alcoholic hepatitis often do not cause any symptoms.


Management
For mild form: No specifi treatment is required and hospitalization is not always necessary.the use of alcohol must be stop and ensure good nutrition. Also use supplement Vitamins and minerals, including folate and thiamine, is reason
Severe cases need special attention.

NB: the best way to prevent this avoid heavy alcohol intake
